New Branch Opening, Bexleyheath

February 2012 will forever be remembered in the annals of our Company for the opening of our new flagship branch in Bexleyheath, and for our involvement in the Bexleyheath Pancake Race.

 

Back in the summer of 2011 a small article in a local paper relating to sale by Bexley Council of a disused public convenience in Townley Road caught the eye of one of our employees. What at first seemed a preposterous idea of transforming an old and dilapidated toilet block into a modern funeral home soon grabbed the imagination of our management staff. Having acquired the site and subsequent planning permission, building work commenced in October last year and we now hope to open in late February.

Not only are we sponsoring this event, but by challenging other business and corporate teams to compete, we hope to win the coveted “Golden Frying Pan” for which a space has already been reserved in our new office.

A picture tells a thousand words and all of them reflect credit upon our Company as Philip, Andrew and Matthew Uden, representing three generations of the family    business, joined with staff to proudly display their new fleet of Jaguar funeral vehicles now in service with W. Uden & Sons.

 

 

Three new hearses and six luxury limousines have now been added to our fleet, which also includes a contemporary Rolls Royce hearse and matching limousine. w uden-funeral-directors-fleet

 

 

 

Based throughout our branches in South East London, these working vehicles are now in daily use on all our funerals and reflect the high levels of quality and service you can expect from our company.

For the technically minded, the vehicles are based on the Jaguar XJ Series with an aluminium body and (3,000cc) engine. The cars are hand built in Berkshire by Willcox & Sons, specialist coachbuilders.
