To walk behind Mum down the road was so old fashioned and she would have loved it.

The church was full and there were so many beautiful flowers all carefully handled.

We walked to the cemetery for the burial where we had time to look at the flowers and they made up posies for us which was truly lovely.

Obviously to loose a loved one is so devastating, but you made a very difficult day much easier to cope with by your warm compassion and empathy.

I do not know how to adequately thank you for all the advice and help you gave me with the arrangements for my husband’s funeral. You were so kind and understanding and nothing seemed too much trouble for you. For you it is an everyday task, but for me it was so important to carry out John’s last wishes and you left nothing to chance.

Thank you so much for providing the beautiful Book of Remembrance. It was such a lovely gesture. Strangely enough I had intended to get one, but never got round to it.

Please thank Spencer and his team for their hard work at the burial. Spencer was so profesional and reassuring that I felt totally safe in his hands. Numerous people have commented on how well it all went. John’s sisters from Ireland were so impressed by the dignity of the ceremony, particularly the way in which the hearse was escorted. It was so different from funerals at home.

Many thanks also for introducing me to Kemnal Park Cemetery. It is such a beautiful site and I know that the grave will be well maintained when I am no longer able to take care of it.

On the day of the funeral, we were hugly impressed at your calm effciency that ensured that everything was in place and that we did not have to worry about the detail.

We would like to say a BIG, BIG thank you for your care an compassion through out our loss and for the totally professional way you conducted the funeral of my Dad, Jim on the 19th December 2012. The attention to detail and the courtesy you extended to my family and friends was second to none.

On the day of the funeral Matthew and the staff talked to us like they were friends of the family which put everyone at ease, for me that made saying goodbye to my Dad a lot easier.

Nick as you you know I used to work in the funeral trade and knowiing how to conduct yourself on a funeral can be sometimes difficult as the main mourners take losing a loved one in many different ways, but Matthew and the Rev. Steve Browning did a brilliant job and gave my Dad the perfect funeral .

Dear Sirs,

I am writing to express our thanks on the efficiency and effortless way in which you’re men dealt with my late fathers funeral on friday. The lead man Graham talked us through every step to try and ease our pain guiding us in to the chapel along with the excellent bearers who all looked smart and carried my father with pride.

The people who attended the services all commented on the lovely vehicles and the whole lay out. Graham and Kevin then drove us to Oxted where we drank a toast.

Please thank all that were involved including George who is sunning himself in Thailand but he starded our journey.

Dear Mr. Uden,

Concerning our Mum’s funeral David and I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the exemplary way your staff conducted themselves at our Mum’s funeral yesterday.

In particular, I would like to mention Matthew & Tim.

Tim, who drove us to and from the crematorium helped make that ‘last’ journey more relaxed and less sombre than it might have been. He is  consummate conversationalist and we very much appreciated the way he helped keep our mind on other things.

Matthew is a gem. So very smart, dignified and yet somehow relaxed, he brought a real sense of occasion to the day. He struck just the right note of formality verses informality and in particular, his suggestion to make up the little posies for the close female relatives was inspired and greatly appreciated by the recipients and us.

Both are a great credit to your family business.

Regrettably, though I do not know the names of the other men attending, the pallbearers etc, their conduct was excellent and they all upheld the good name of Uden.

Again, may I thank everybody concerned with the arrangements for yesterday: for their kindness, consideration and close attention to all maters concerning the funeral. While I am sure you will understand when I say I hope I  do not have to see too much of you, I am certain that we will continue to use your services when the time comes.

I am writing to thank you and all your staff at your Sidcup branch, for carrying out my mother’s funeral to perfection on 01.10.12.

Everything was very precise. The undertakers uniforms were immaculate, the person giving instructions to the pallbearers and to the mourners was impeccable.

Finally, ending on a very positive note, I have to congratulate you on the brilliant idea of the black flags! We were asked how many cars were to follow the hearse and were offered the flags to clip onto the windows. This fantastic idea brought a smile to our faces and lifted the spirit of the occasion!! What a difference these made. When crossing roundabouts, cars stopped out of respect to let us pass through and kept the procession together. It also helped those who didn’t know the way to the crematorium, how clever was that! I hope your company has patented that idea, a fortune awaits you!!!

Once again, thank you for all help given to our family. My mother had a long and healthy life and you helped her on her way. She would have loved the whole occasion, especially the flags!

TEDDY BEARS’ PICNIC – Thank You

Please would you thank the two wonderful men, Nick and Pat for their invaluable help with the set up and take down of our Teddy Bears’ Picnic event and thank you for organising it so they were able to come along.

Despite the awful weather conditions towards the end of the event (which your guys unfortunately know all too well) were delighted that it was still so very well attended and was a great success. We hope to announce the total raised very soon.

As you know we rely on community support to raise more than 4 million pounds annually, which enables us to continue to provide specialist palliative care free of charge to those with life limiting illnesses and to their families/carers when it is needed most, and so our Hospice events are an important element of our fundraising.

I have attached a copy of our leaflet for our next two events, being our Moonlit Walk and our Sunday  If you or your team are in anyway able to offer their time again for the Sunday on 23rd September or would like to be involved in any way with further events this year please do let me know.

I am writing to express since thanks on behalf of Pam Myers, Eric Myers Brother) and myself, for the superb “undertaking” for the the funeral of Bob Myers at Southwark Cathedral last Tuesday.
Thank you for the quiet reverence & dignified manner in which all duties were carried out. It all helped s much to make a truly memorable occasion rather than a “totally sad” one. I know at the end of the day Pam acknowledged feeling Peaceful and happy for Bob that it had been such a “Great Funeral”
I must acknowledge also the amazing skilful driving of Martyn & Gareth, giving me the confidence and comfort i do not usually feel when caught in London Traffic, coming from the wilds of Cornwall!!
I even managed to achieve a little sightseeing during our journey – so thank them for that, along with fantastic timing as well as their care on the day!

On Monday 9th July 2012 I sadly attended the Funeral of my much loved older sister Margaret Sims.

I am writing to thank you for the care and attention that you bestowed to Margaret and to all those of us in her Family. The attention to our feelings and to our care on the day “Second To None” and i can only say that it made what was such an emotionally sad day so much easier to bear.

Margaret was a caring, giving, kind and loving person and during the last months of her life she was courageous and brave. She deserved the very best…. I could not have asked for anything more than for her to be looked after so professionally and with such great respect on the last journey of her life.

You made the whole experience bearable. Mum would have been thrilled with her final journey, in particular the fact the horses were from Canterbury rescue. She was a great animal lover and we could not have asked for a more fitting and special horse escort.
