It's hard to properly express our gratitude to Uden & Sons for the funeral of our father. Thank you from us all. We've lived in Peckham for 33 years so have often walked past their Peckham branch and seen their beautiful carriages and cars out in the streets. We spoke to a few other companies before Uden and perhaps it's their 142 year history as a family run business, but they seemed perfect. It's an extremely delicate art being able to talk with a grieving family without sounding fawning or obsequious. All of the Uden staff we spoke to and met were extremely friendly, utterly professional, caring and when appropriate even funny - truly wonderful people. There's also a remarkable eye for detail. I can't recommend them higher.

We had never organised a funeral service, so all seemed quite overwhelming.Sophie was our first point of contact and explained the whole process to us.Sophie’s extraordinary work ethic, was shown by her determination and dedication towards her role. She was extremely professional and exhibited compassion, respect and excellence that made her outstanding. We felt like a huge weight had been lifted during our time of need. She was happy to answer any of our questions and communicated very quickly and effectively. We had no doubt’s or worries about placing our dear sister Hazel, under Uden’s care. The family left feeling so relaxed and at ease.Sophie gave us info on a few crematoriums, and following many family discussions… and chats with Sophie we finally chose to go to Honor Oak Crematorium. We were so happy to have eventually made that choice as the crematorium and surrounding area was beautiful.The afternoon before the funeral Lee J, the conductor, called to confirm the plans for the day and to see if we needed anything. Lee was so professional & caring and had such a warming voice, once again we had no worries at all.On the morning of the funeral the hearse, 2 family cars and a London Black Taxi arrived at our home in immaculate condition. All of the team were extremely well groomed and looked sharp in their attire, they displayed exceptional respect and care. We were so happy to have been placed under their care.Sophie had provided the contact details for David M, who has the Black Taxi Service. The taxi was required for my mother who uses a wheel chair and is not able to walk or transfer.David M was so professional, kind, compassionate and caring he immediately made the family feel at ease, there was no question in my mind that he would be the right person for our funeral service. David checked out the route and contacted us a few days and also the day before the service, to see if there was anything that we needed. The electric taxi arrived, spotless and smelt lovely, there were cushions and a beautiful throw with music on offer as well (if needed), my parents felt so comfortable. David’s appearance was immaculate from head to toe, he looked extremely smart in a Tailored Suit and his warmth, support and attention to detail was impeccable.Although a sad day the team who looked after us Peter, Jack, Lee W, Steve, Lee J the conductor and David M provided the much needed comfort, that made the day more bearable. So thank you all!Words cannot express our appreciation to all of the team for their extraordinary assistance in coordinating our sisters funeral.
