Why Do Udens Celebrate Valentine’s Day?

You may have seen on our social media pages recently that we make a big thing about Valentine’s day, and you have possibly wondered why we do that? After all, isn’t the funeral business meant to be a solemn affair? We do of course treat every funeral that we arrange with the dignity and gravitas that it deserves, but throughout the decades that Uden Funerals have been caring for families, there is one central theme that runs through just about every single funeral. Love.

Valentine’s day can be a bit like Marmite; some people can’t get enough of it, others wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole, but in this country, and many others around the world, Valentine’s day is the chosen day to celebrate all things love. We are excellent at what we do, but we couldn’t bring the amazing level of service to the families that we look after without the unsung heroes that work tirelessly to ensure that a funeral can take place.

That is why we use Valentine’s day as one of the days that we say an enormous thank you to the army of lovely, caring people from hospitals, cemeteries, crematoria, registrars and everyone else that forms one of the intricate pieces in the beautiful jigsaw that is the funeral industry. We deliver our Bags Of Love to a cross-section of the amazing teams that make our vocation possible, we’re just sorry that we can’t personally thank every single one of them.

So we hope that this has given a little insight into what could have seemed a little odd at first glance, and maybe helped you to know a bit more about the many people that are involved behind the scenes on every funeral. We thank our amazing Uden’s team, we thank all those that play their part, unseen but vital, in every funeral arrangement, but most of all, we thank you for continuing to trust Uden Funerals to give your loved ones the very best of goodbyes.

Much love as ever,

Matthew.
